We have been called upon to do a historic renovation job on an 18th century home with a somewhat deteriorated partially enclosed porch. The exterior renovation will involve creating a wraparound porch with a full roof.

In the interior of the home the work will include finishing the attic, adding new, durable vinyl flooring, revamping the lighting, and putting in new mini-split HVAC systems. There will be seven mini-splits throughout the home, the advantage to these being that they do not require duct work. This is essential due to the home’s original log and chinking construction, meaning the walls are logs filled with solid material in the spaces between. Paul’s drawings of the structure are shown below.

The photos below reflect the beautiful stone exterior and the solid bones of this home that has stood the test of time. The aged wood outside has not held up over the years, however. Harmon Builders is proud to use our craftsmanship to bring this family’s dream of restoring and enhancing their piece of history to fruition.
