Ivywood Kitchen Renovation with Custom Hickory Cabinetry to Last a Lifetime
Harmon Builders’ recent Ivywood project in Frederick, MD, is a testament to our commitment to quality and craftsmanship.
Craftsmen Paul Harmon and Jason Airing worked closely with our client to design a kitchen layout and cabinetry that perfectly blends functionality and aesthetics– ready to entertain. From conception to completion, every detail was carefully planned and executed. The kitchen features dimmable undercabinet task lighting, providing the perfect ambiance for cooking and baking tasks. A coffee/beverage station, a large island “workhorse” and an elegant handmade oven hood complement the space with nothing left behind.
The epicenter of this stunning kitchen is the island with its ivory-hued quartzite countertop, crafted from locally sourced natural hickory, complemented by a mix of antique-white painted perimeter cabinets with honed black granite counters and a travertine tile floor. The homeowner’s choice of brushed brass and matte black hardware adds a touch of elegance, while the island’s antique brass “saucer” pendant lights tie into the warm tones of the natural hickory cabinetry. To create a more open and inviting space, we removed an outdated kitchen wall structure and installed an LVL beam, allowing natural sunlight to flood the area. This design choice expanded the kitchen and created a comfortable seating area that overlooks the gorgeous backyard and pool.
